Child Study Team

ABOUT THE CHILD STUDY TEAM (CST)

The Child Study Team is a group of certified specialists who evaluate students and support their educational needs. The CST works collaboratively with teachers and parents to assess students and develop recommendations for special education services.

Team Roles

  • School Psychologist – Conducts cognitive and social-emotional assessments, supports behavioral planning, participates in eligibility and IEP meetings
  • Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C) – Conducts academic assessments, analyzes learning strengths and needs, recommends instructional strategies
  • School Social Worker – Conducts social/developmental assessments, supports home-school communication, connects families with resources
  • Speech-Language Therapist – Evaluates and provides therapy for students with speech, language, or communication needs
  • Occupational Therapist (OT) – Assesses and supports fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
  • Physical Therapist (PT) – Evaluates and provides therapy for gross motor skills, mobility, and physical functioning
