Harrison Public Schools and the Harrison/East Newark Municipal Alliance have just completed a joint project within our community. The Strengthening Families Program was offered to families of children enrolled in Harrison Public Schools who are also residents of Harrison Gardens and Kingsland Courts. Families gathered together throughout the month of January, and met in focus groups designed to foster communication skills, build positive parenting techniques, maintain stress management and foster substance abuse prevention. Each evening session began with a "family style" meal and ended with a fun family activity. Parents, children and staff alike will miss our time together!
