National Hazing Prevention WeekNational Hazing Prevention Week is September 19 – 23, 2016 and in anticipation of this week, Harrison High School recently hosted a presentation for all Fall Athletic Teams. Jackie Collard, Anti-Bullying Specialist for Harrison High School and Joan McNichol, Director of Student Life and Services, led players and coaches through experiences and discussions designed to prompt dialogue in individual team meetings and to educate players concerning the potential physical and emotional hazards that are inherent in the practice of hazing. By employing the adage "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.", the Anti-Bullying Specialists work year round in order to promote the social and emotional character development of Harrison Public Schools' students. Watch for more events during the New Jersey's Week of Respect, which will be observed  October 3 through 7, 2016 and America's Safe Schools Week, observed October 16 through 22, 2016.
