Each year, in celebration of Law Day (May 1st), the Hudson County Vicinage sponsors a Law Day contest, designed around a topic relating to the Rule of Law, Constitutional Amendments, Bill of Rights, etc. This year's theme was "The Rule of Law and the American Dream" and categories included essay, poetry, rap, photography and art.
Through determination, excellence, and a competitive spirit, students at Washington Middle School scored 3 winning spots:
Grade 8 Art
1st place: Inaya Constantine
2nd Place: Harleen Kaur
Grade 8 Photography
2nd Place: Amy Delgado

Students and family members, and their teachers—Amy Morillo, Christina Nidowicz, and Laura Comppen, along with Dr. Maureen Kroog, Superintendent of Schools; Dr. Kevin Stahl, Assistant Superintendent of Schools; and Hamlet Marte, Principal, participated in an awards ceremony held at the Hudson County Administration building. Hudson County Executive Craig Guy was in attendance, and paused to congratulate our students on a job well done.
