Vaping Epidemic

Harrison Public Schools Address National Vaping Epidemic
HHS Students

In December, 2018 the Surgeon General of the United States announced that vaping has become a national epidemic. Marketed as a safer alternative to cigarettes, vape pens have found their way into virtually every high school in New Jersey, with the potential for devastating results and long term health impairments. In order to educate our students against this pervasive hazard, Harrison Public Schools have partnered with Horizon Blue Cross/ Blue Shield's Community Outreach Program. Through interactive presentations offered during Health and Physical Education classes, students at Harrison High School are able to explore vaping risks and consequences. Students are given a clear understanding of the damage that vaping can cause and are now better equipped to say "No" to this new and alarming trend.
